New diet routine

I just want to say a big thank you for all of the comments on my last post. It's amazing to know I have the support from you guys!!!
I am still eating oatbran, I think it's a good substitute for when I want to make cakes etc...
I am still losing weight on this new way of eating I have been trying.

I am currently on 34lbs. This is a typical day for me:

Breakfast:

Oatbran pancake with a banana, apple, and strawberry smoothie.

Lunch:
Lebanese style chicken shish taouk, a side salad and garlic sauce

Dinner:
Either a beef steak with roasted veggies, or my healthy version of moussaka.

For snacks I eat fruit or raisins!

As you can see this is not too different from Dukan. I will still check back with the book every now and then for tips. I am adding in hair friendly food, fruit and spinach.

Saying bye to dukan...

Well, I don't know how to quite put this. I'm no longer following the Dukan diet. I was taking out my hair in clumps this week, which is caused by fad dieting. My hair is looking paper thin and I am truly upset. I am going to carry on dieting as normal, but I am going to do it the normal way. This diet has potentially ruined my hair, so thanks for that!
If you feel like you only want to follow this blog if it's dukan related, unfollow if you like! But this will be a healthy diet diary.
I respect anyone who wishes to do this diet, but it's just not for my body in particular. Has anyone had symptoms out of the ordinary?

30lbs lost (13.6 kilos) Month 3, Week 2.

Hello Dieters. Just a quick post to say I have lost 30lbs now. I thought I was stuck at 12.10 stone earlier on in the month when I had surgery. Phew, I am now at 12.6. A couple of lbs really do make a difference to your appearance. It's a weird feeling seeing your body wasting away.

On a quick note, the stretchmarks on my hips seem to be fading for no apparent reason at all. With all of the research I did on the topic, I never saw that losing weight could help the appearance. I am not sure about the ones on my lower back since I am all bandaged up. But let's see soon!

Measuring.

I thought I'd do a different post today. Non Dukan related.

I regret not measuring my waist before I started dieting. I wore a UK 38C bra but I am pretty sure my waist was a little bigger than that. I have to say I am probably more on the B cup side now. I'm not fussed though!
Today I measured my waist and I am 34.5 inches! I can only estimate I was around 39 inches before maybe? Maybe more? 40? who knows. I guess I never wanted to do it for obvious reasons. I always had a really small waist comparing to my hips, so it was not really an area I focused on measuring.
I have sisters. One of my sisters who I am most similar to is at a normal weight. She is 8.5 stone and looks a really good size. If she weighed anymore than 9.5 stone she would look chubby. Her waist is around 30-32. My aim is going to be 32 if I am already close to 34. I honestly thought I would be 34 at the end of this diet, now I'm shocked! I forgot everything has to do with your personal frame.
Let me know if you guys have done any measuring! I regret not measuring more parts of my body. My legs look so different too. I know my aim is 9.5 stone now. Before, it was 10 stone.

Weigh in - Month 2, Week 1

I have been really careful recently considering the fact that my weight loss is suddenly much slower. I thought to myself "If I am still at 12.8 stone tomorrow I will be really sad and know that this diet is not for me"
Well thankfully today I am at 12.7 stone! It seems as though I lose an lb every 3 days now instead of every 2 days like before. That's normal I guess!
I'm just a bit of a perfectionist... My starting weight was 14.8 stone. Um...I have just noticed what a difference that is. I think once I get to 12 stone or even 11.13...It will hit me that I have lost a lot of weight.
Yesterday I was food shopping for my diet needs and I saw a girl from my old secondary school (age 11-18 school for those of you in the US) she stopped and stared at me for a second...and gave me the oddest look (we weren't exactly 2 peas in a pod) but that fact that she looked me up and down meant something I think.

Quick Update

Hello lovely dieters.
There is something really funny about losing weight. I have never really been thin in my adult life, so I am suddenly seeing what my body shape is like. Normally I would have a really small upper half and big hips. I would complain that my hips just don't shrink and that I will always be bottom heavy.
Um...how wrong am I? My hips seem to be losing more fat now than ever. They are catching up with my upper half and I am not as curvacious as I thought I was! I have to say, I am slightly disappointed to be parting with my bum and hips (haha) I have a flat bum!
I ACTUALLY went out to try on clothes. I haven't felt happy doing that in ages.
I picked up the most amazing blouse and to my horror...they did not have my size. I picked up the size smaller and I went to try it on. It fit! I went from a UK size 18, to a UK size 14 (upper half) so so happy! My bottom half, I am pretty sure, is still a 16 (it's getting there though!) I was a UK 20 on my bottom half before.
Tomorrow is my weigh in. Last time i weighed myself I was at 12.8 and a half. I hope to be 12.7 by tomorrow...

I. HATE. OATBRAN. *gasp*

After a 2 month love affair with oatbran... I have come to the conclusion that I hate it. I was so happy with the pancakes, microwave biscuits, bakes biscuits, muffins and what not...but now I am just SICK of it. I can't bring myself to eat any of it. What do I do?
I haven't had chocolate in so long and I need something to fill that void. I know, I have tried the chocolate oatbran muffin, tried the cookies, but nothing is like pure chocolate. hmfffff :-(

Reached 2 stone!

I had to work extra hard this week to get to a 2 stone loss. I had surgery not too long ago which made my weightloss stop completely. It was upsetting because I was losing weight so fast before that...

My starting weight was 14.8 stone
My current weight is 12.8 stone ...It sounds like such a big thing, but I have way more to go!
Before my surgery I had some mini goals...I want to reach 12 stone by the end of August, but now I am going to make that the start of September purely because of what happened with my surgery.
My surgical wound is much smaller now & I was able to walk for 40 minutes on my treadmill yesterday with no pain.
I'll be honest, I was forgetting to do my arm toning exercises because I have a problem with my shoulders... with a bit of agony and persistence, I did some yesterday! It's worth it I am sure.

Happy Dieting!

(Also, how have I reached 1,240 views? amazeballs!)

Re-starting the Attack Phase

I took your advice, my lovely readers - I am going to do another attack phase.
I am stuck on 12.9 stone...which is not far away from the 12.11 I was before my surgery. Sucks! I need to lose one more lb to make it a 2 stone loss.
The surgery screwed up my diet system a bit, so here I start again!
Wish me luck :)

Yummy Roasted Tomato/Piri Chicken & Roasted Veggies (EASY)

Forgive me as I burst my own bubble here...

I make up some really great savory dishes. I watched my Mother cook so many things throughout my youth & I certainly picked up as much as I could. This is something I made up today, I hope you guys try and enjoy it!

Ingredients: (for one person)

1 red pepper (sliced)
1 courgette (sliced)
1 Chicken breast
Tomato puree (paste)
Piri Piri powder
Salt
Half a lemon
Sunflower oil

Roasted Vegetables method:
Place the sliced red peppers and courgettes into an oven proof dish, use 2tsp of sunflower oil and drizzle on top. Set the oven to 180c (fan oven) and leave for 35 minutes turning occasionally.

Roasted Chicken breast method:
Place the chicken into an oven proof dish, slightly deep. Squeeze half a lemon onto the chicken and sprinkle on a small amount of salt. Get the piri piri powder and sprinkle as much as you would like according to taste. Use one or two table spoons of tomato puree and spread on top of the chicken. Get one tsp of sunflower oil and drizzle. Put into the oven at 180c (fan oven) for 35 minutes (depending on the size of the chicken breast, check the inside is not pink! leave for longer if needed)

The piri piri powder I used was from sainsburys, view HERE

Weight loss halt...

Ah people...I am still at 12.10 stone. The other day I had surgery which made me gain 3lbs... They have gone away but I have been at .10/.11 for the past couple of days.
If any of you hit a weight loss halt like me...what did you do to solve it?
